1975 Vette in basement since 1987

A friend of mine wanted my opinion on what it's worth. It has not ran since parked, but was running when parked. The odometer has turned over it's showing 101, 887. It's a 4 speed car 2 owner. Thoughts?? I've done some searching on a price and haven't really found a way to value it in this condition.

What are people thinking man? Humm,.. where oh where do I put this plywood?

On TOP of my Corvette. Yeah!... that's a good place.

Hard to tell on the value of it but I'm guessing $3500 or so (??)

I was surprised as well even tho it was insulation board. Nothing should be on it.

Based on 2 that I found ($4000 and $5975) that was running and driving that needed work, I valued this one around $1500-2000

I would say $2500-$3000 according to the value guide.

I think you guy's are in the ballpark. Not trying to rag on the guy's car. It's just not a highly desireable year. Kinda cool story though.

I was thinking a couple grand as well. She's rough and probably the least desirable of the classic 'vettes. You can buy a really nice running one for under 10 grand.

Re: 1975 Vette in basement since 1987

Looks pretty rough. I'd be scared to put a price on it, it wouldn't be as high as already posted, I'm seeing a not very well cared for engine, (and probably rest of drivetrain), missing rear bumper, and a whole lot of expensive interior that's gonna need replaced. Just my opinion, and I'm FAR from being a Vette expert. Hope a fair deal is found for buyer and seller.

Re: 1975 Vette in basement since 1987

Here's my 1 cents worth coming from the corvette world, needs about 10K in front and rear covers, body & paint, 2-3K in interior refurb, will need complete brake and suspension overhaul, all new brake and fuel lines, will more than likely need drive train overhaul. In very good shape these things are bringing in just over 10K. AC plus 4 speed does add a little more valuable but not much. They are starting to creep up in value. Like any other car or truck, it will cost way more to retore than you can sell them for.

Not worth fixing Make a parts car for a build You could spend 15k to make it worth 10

The 4 speed parts are worth some cash and the engine could make someone's Nova worth $50,000 because it has a Vette motor.
Definitely a parts car

Re: 1975 Vette in basement since 1987

i look at those pictures and dont see a parts car// interior looks to b pretty complete not damaged and or missing lots things a good cleaning and it is a good daily driver place to sit// the rear needs some panel work and a pint of paint to make it roadworthy
heck if someone could pick it up for 1500-2000 even if you need to spend 3000 more into it some young kid could b the coolest kid in schoo; with a vette // you would b hard pressed spending that type of money and havin a driver beater with that type of fun value

will it b a barret jackson car NOPE but it would b a blast for somebody

Yeah, she's too nice to part. Most of that interior will clean up decent enough for a driver. Get the motor running, new brakes and tires, a used tail panel and some yellow spray paint... and weeeeeeeee

A 75 vette in running condition is 5k-6k around here. I see a 2k dollar car at best

I agree with the 1.5 to 2K value but he'll probably get between 2-3K from someone wanting to get in a Vette cheap thinking it'll be an easy fix.
