Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

No, that guy is dreaming. I've seen people posting some pretty ridiculous prices on things lately.

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

You can ask whatever number you want, its what people are willing to pay. Ebay doesn't seem to be a place where you would get that kind of price ($50,000 and reserve isn't met still). Neat truck, that's for sure.

Dang, that truck looks a lot like mine. Except I'm pretty sure mine's never been anywhere close to that clean, even straight off the factory floor...

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

There's what it costs to build it and then what somebody else will pay you for it. This Television concept of putting tons of time and labor into a vehicle and then selling it for a whopping profit doesn't happen very often. It's like art. When some big name builder does it maybe. For the rest of us we take a bath.

Smile Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

Well you can ask anything you want for your stuff....its a free country.
That said, there were hundreds of thousands of these things made and they are not LS6 Corvettes, Superbirds, GT500's, Z28's or otherwise...they are trucks.
This guy has put out a lot of dough$$ to restore this and done a nice job. Now he wants someone to pay him back for his restoration indulgence...he did a nice job and he wouldn't be the first to want his money back.
Unfortunately, it usually doesn't work that way....the 'market average' defines the pricing.
Unless you hunt and market far and wide patiently and wait for those one or two guys who have more money than time...and who then might buy it.
Just be prepared to wait quite a while and market quite a bit to find them.
That said, I can easily get a really nice '66 Corvette for that kind of money and that is a way better investment IMHO.
Regardless just my two bits...and it is a very nice truck.
(note: very important 'telltale' is how many bids are on it....last time I checked...zero. This is always important info to pay attention to on a listing. Noting that what is more important than asking price...is interest)

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

Absolutely amazing truck, but... I would have liked to have seen full wheel covers or chrome hubcaps on such a correct restoration, not rallye wheels.

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

Honestly----the seller's wife probably told him he had to get rid of the truck, so he asked a price that nobody will pay. Probably has receipts totaling more than that to show his wife when he shrugs and says "I can't understand why it doesn't sell".

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

Well I used to be shocked seeing how much those split windows VW buses go for about 10-15 years ago. Now, they are twice as much up in 70-100k price range for 21 windows. So you will never know how the market will be.

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

This truck is the Holy Grail of 67/72's, Cheyenne Super (with no spid showing to show YE9 Code) short box, big block, tach and buckets with console. Finally someone that put the raised white letters on the tires on the inside and I agree the truck is stunning and seems to be done right but rallys with spinners, I think P01's would be much better. It'll be interesting to see if it sells.

Re: Are our trucks worth this much?

well, it doesn't have shoulder belts...

Ha. Anyhoo, it's a beautiful truck. And it was worth $50.1K to at least one person - 2 bids and reserve not met.

Very nice. I couldn't/wouldn't pay that price for it, but someone might. Someone would have, actually - I'm just curious what the reserve was...

Sure could use some PO1s or PO3s on it though (how's that for being picky).
I actually DO like rallies. But this level of extreme resto would benefit from that final touch. Having said that - I do NOT like spinners on rallies or anything other than Spinner of Spinner and Paddlefoot's little beanie cap. (if someone can identify that reference, you're old like me)

EDIT: Oops, it was Spritle of Spritle and Chim Chim, I meant to say. There, now there's TWO old shows to ponder.

The guy blew it! He doesn't know how to price a Vehicle. Should have been: $49,999.99.

I will be posting my truck on ebay too.... what the heck... trolling for bucks! It's good sport, I guess!
