Re: engine trouble please help

Is this a CPI or TBI? The CPI motors are great and have good power, but they have their own special set of issues....

Re: engine trouble please help

first we need to clarify which engine you have. 1993 would either be a TBI (throttle body injection) with the 8th digit of VIN being a "Z" or the "vortec" CPI (central port injection) with the 8th being a "W".

the CPI "W" engine having poor running/long cranking time/wet plug on #6 is usually a sign of the plastic fuel lines under the upper intake leaking since they sit right above the entrance to the intake runners for #4 and #6. you can verify this by removing the plastic cover on top of engine (2 T30 screws) and the Intake Manifold Tuning Valve. the have someone turn the key to run while you look through that opening towards the back drivers side corner with a small flashlight.
the lines are available aftermarket

Re: engine trouble please help

I should add though that lately I have little or no faith in Dorman stuff.

Have you done a compression test? Just to help eliminate other problems?
