Hello new to the blazer game but have always wanted a 2wd blazer. No motor or tranny no interior. Is $1700.00 to much, yes it is a real 2wd blazer.

How are the blazer specific items?
Top, hatch, tub, rocker boxes?

I think it's worth $1500 easy.
Buy yourself a cheap 4x4 blazer and swap everything over.

It appears to be a '72 frame, in your original pics,... but can't tell for sure.

The '72 (only) blazer rear frame rails have the center bumper brackets built into them.
The 69-71 rear frame rails are like pickups.
(cut off straight)
They require a 4-piece rear bumper bracket set.

Also the gravel guards are specific to the '72 model year.

This frame looks like a '72.

From what I can tell, I think 1700 is a bit too much for a truck that doesnt run and has some rust/body issues. Just my opinion, but if I was the seller I think I would realistically expect to get on more than 1200 for it.

I agree with everyones posts but really if you want it bad enough I say go for it, true 2wd are really hard to come by, and by the time you get a 4x4 and put all that work into it to change it over I say go for it. I paid 1000 for 70 factory 2wd but I was very blessed to find a deal like that. I would show him 1400 cash and I bet you could get it.

It looks like a great start on a highly desirable and hard to find project. Like chevy truck crazy said 2wd projects are getting hard to find. I paid a grand for mine and it was as stripped down as yours with no title and about 5 times the rust.

Looks like someone widened the wheel tubs. I'd probably move on - IMO, it's not worth paying more for a true 2wd that has been hacked - especially if you're going to modify it more. Buy a 4wd with a nice body and convert it to 2wd. http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...ion/index.html

If you want to do a stock restoration, you might want to keep on looking. I would check the top left front frame numbers (near the steering box on top of the frame) against the VIN as it does appear to have the 72 rear frame horns. It might have had them welded on but if it is a different frame, then it would effect value for me. If the top is loose, move it back and look at the top of the windshield where the triangular weather strip screws on as they are often rotted away at these points. I don't think $1400 - 1700 is outrageous if it is solid, but you are going to have a good deal of money in it based on your skills, easily 15 - 17 k unless you can do all the mechanical work, paint and body. You are going to need lots of parts. Good luck,. Keep us posted.

This one appears to be a different blazer than the one at the Truck Nat's. The inside on the one at the Nat's was medium olive (unless it's transformed since then).
