Wave it around and say Abracadabra?
Come on dude, there's not enough info here to sneeze at much less offer any useful suggestions. You'll need to get us much more info on this motor and the truck it's going in.

Re: 10066036 is what i took out of one truck
well unfortunatley i dont have more info.
motor came out of my 85 longbed, matched to 700r4. truck had a 305 at one time. motor ran strong, crate engine. going into 86 short. matched to 350 trans. no clue my rear or gears or any of that, dont know much, not a motor head...wish i were. looking to spend around 2-3k..but not tomorrow, couple kids, dog, wife etc. right now im pushing the 305 in short wide....that wobbles..... i think it would be dumb move to just throw motor in new truck, figure while its out, i could maybe add some power/torque. just dont know enuff to say i want this compression, that torqe, these rods etc. |

That engine is a GM targetmaster crate engine. Made in Mexico. Its 8.5-1 compression and the heads are nothing special. Like I said before if you go to the upper end of your budget you can probably squeeze in a 383 if you do your homework and shop around for parts. On the other hand you could do a stock-ish rebuild. Either get a crank kit or have yours polished, reuse your rods and get a set of flat top hypereutectic pistons and have the rotating assembly balanced. Get your compression above 9-1. Get a set of summit brand cast iron heads for around 650 for the pair or a set of dart iron eagles for about 900 bucks. Run the lunati voodoo 60101 cam. Find yourself a used performer rpm intake for under 100 bucks. Add a holley 670 street avenger. and you will have a solid 325hp and over 350ft lbs or torque with a 350.
