Re: Scoop or Velocity Stacks

Are you going to put the little air filters at the top of the velocity stacks or leave them open?

Re: Scoop or Velocity Stacks

Scoop looks tough, stacks are old hotrod/ratrod style. Just doesnt look as mean. You need to get the 3 butterfly valve scoop. Even tougher.

Re: Scoop or Velocity Stacks

guess which side of the fence I'm on...
Re: butterflies - they only look "authentic" on F.I. cars - on carbs they look a little goofy to me, like an over-priced air filter and the bflies serve no purpose. But that's just me. Anyhoo, cool engine, you can't go wrong.

Re: Scoop or Velocity Stacks

I have run velocity stacks on the street before and in my opinion they are very rpm sensitive, the engine was flat in certain rpm range took off the velocity stack and problem was solved.

Re: Scoop or Velocity Stacks

I like both. But I don't like butterfly scoops or gold anodized stacks. Personally I never cared for the Milodon gold anodized look.

I don't think scoops or stacks look rat roddy. They would be the only decent looking thing on a true rat rod.
