66 GMC Dana 44 6lug to 5on5 ?

Has anyone ever tried drilling a set of axles out of a dana 44 from a 6 lug to a 5 on 5 pattern? i would like to change my bolt pattern to accompany a better rim selection. It seems to me you would have to have the center of the axle turned down from 3.5" to 3" then where would you get drums. drums are 11x2.5 with a 3.5" center hole. Does anyone make a drum 11x2.5 with a 3" center hole 5 on5 lugs. any sugestions ?

My suggestion would be to contact Moser and have a set of 5x5 axles built.
