Gas tank for my 63

Can someone confirm that the gas tanks used under the bed between the frame on the 60 to 66 pick ups will work for my 63 suburban?

Only Burb's and Panels came with tank's between the frame rails. Most trucks came with in cab tanks. Bigger trucks had saddle tanks.

Re: Gas tank for my 63

Evidently I wasn't clear I was referring to the tanks that were either add-ons or later replacement tanks that are being sold for the trucks, they fit under the bed between the frame.

Auxiliary tanks?

Since the Burb uses the short wheel based frame I'm thinking that the gas tank sold for the 60 to 66 trucks will work on the suburban. Anybody have any other thoughts then that?

I've got a repairable stock tank if ya want to go that way, pinhole leak at crease/dent in first pic.

They fit fine on burbs. Mine was from Classic Parts of America. No dent for the spare though.

Re: Gas tank for my 63

The '69-'72 Blazer gas tanks are nearly identicle to the '63-'66 Suburban/Panel gas tanks. As 64fleetside said, there is no indent for a spare tire. I did a side by side comparison some time ago to verify this.

Re: Gas tank for my 63

That's all right, not a problem. Maybe I should have posted the ? in French? Oh wait, I only know like 3 words of French and 2 of those are can-can.

Re: Gas tank for my 63

Mike did you put this tank in yet? I have 3 burb tanks and all have issues. Instead of taking it to a shop to have one fixed and lined was looking at this same tank in the LMC book. If you did go this route, where did you go and how much total was it to your door? How low does it hang under the frame?

Thanks in advance.
