Removing bed sides??

I keep seeing posts for Bed Sides.

Forgive a stupid question from a newbie, but do these just unbolt, or are they cut off? How about the front of the bed, and the wheel wells?

Is the floor replaceable as well? I have found a decent, rust free '72 Cheyenne 20 that has a very stretched and abused bed floor. (Dented down ~2" in some places). The sides and front of the bed are nice, and the tailgate, and wheel wells are OK, but the floor sucks. My interest in this truck would go way up if I could easily replace the bed floor.

Thanks!

They unbolt at the front and at the back(if the area the bolts are isnt rusted out) but there are some small welds on the back cross member that you will have to break. They are very small.

I assume you're talking about removing the bed floor, right?

So are there replacement bed floors out there?

Thanks,

I was talking about the sides from the front and rear cross members, The floor should just unbolt. You can get stuff to redo a wood bed, I dont know whats available for metal floors

bed floor

I have a pretty decent bedfloor just south of you about an hour for lwb. They are not bad to take apart, lots of rusty bolts and a couple of welds. I would take $50 or trade for other clean parts. email me for more info if your interested at

Classic Truck Mag had an article -

If you're interested in renewing the floor, Classic Truck Mag had an article on floor replacement of a '68 longbed fleetside.

They replaced the metal floor with a wooden one. It required replacing the front panel with one from www.mar-k.com for a wooden floor.

Check out www.classictrucksweb.com for info on back issues. It was the December 2002 issue.

I don't know bout the good vendors we have, but I know LMC sells steel floors in 1/2s. One left and one right, but it would take a good welder to pull it off IMO.I am in no way recomending LMC...I still say they suck.
