Re: engine ID help... Running the numbers..

Sounds like a "Made in Mexico" 350 target crate engine.

Its most likely one of these

10066036...350...........2 or 4...Target Master/Goodwrench crate motor, 2-piece rear seal, "Hecho en Mexico"
10066038...350.....92....4...Goodwrench crate motor, 2-piece rear seal, "Hecho en Mexico"

Re: engine ID help... Running the numbers..

Hi,

I have the same casting # ending with the 030. Could be an 8 or a 6 on the end but everywhere I have found shows 350.

May be a silly/obvious question but, this would be a gen 1 engine right?

Yes, should be Gen 1 style.

Re: engine ID help... Running the numbers..

Mongoose, I have that same engine in my 68 Chevy C-30. It was originally a 327 but now has a 10066030 Good-wrench in it. The marks on the front tab on mine are 3VF and that is all it has. I know that post you put in is three years old, but,I actually wanted to see if you may have got anymore info on this number. My bigger issue is the exhaust manifolds. They are not for a truck, the number says that they are in fact off of a 79 Pontiac or Buick with a 305 Chev in it.
