My Uncle passed away tonite.

My uncle has had cancer for about 17 months.Well the last 2 has been he... Monday morning I called to check on him he was feeling a little rough.said he was going to docs office.Sherry, his wife called back a little later and said they were in a room.We thought he was holding his own pretty well.I spend several hours a day with him this time and he got alittle better yesterday and they sent him home late in the p.m.

During the nite he woke up twice and couldnt find his oxygen mask that he hasn't wore in 3 days, tube in the nose now,and got real scared that he would stop breathing if he didn't have it.He set up to see the daughters for a while before they have to go to work. Stan ask his wife for his morning pills and she givem to him. He hasn't slept for more than 3 hours at a time in about 10 months. This is about 10:00 this morning. The girls came home around 4:00 and went to see if he would set up and nibble on supper, well they couldn't get him to respond to anything they tried. Called the hospice nurse and before he got there Stan's breathing dropped back to about a 16 yr breathing.30 minutes later he took his last breath. He didn't suffer at all and I am Thankfull that he didn't suffer like Grandma did when she had her stroke 10 months before his cancer started.

Guys and Gals I'm sorry for a long winded post but I had to put this down some where. My nerves are shot and frazzled tonite, if the bord isn;t appropate then you can delete it. I'm sorry.I'm highly upset also.

THANKS FOR READING.JASON OLIVER

If you have any members in your family that you are close to tell them you LOVE THEM when you see'm.They'er not here forever. You may never get to and regret it later.

Re: My Uncle passed away tonite.

Well it has been one h... of a week. We buried uncle Stan Wed. and I have caught myself wanting to call him 2 or3 times a day since last Saturday.

Istill catch myself wanting to call my grandmother which she has been gone for a little over 2 years now.My granddad died 27 years ago so his isnt as bad.

But I still miss them dearly. It will get better withtime though. Have a good nite and I hope eveyone made it home safe.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and their families.

Re: My Uncle passed away tonite.

It will ge better, but it takes a lot of time. I find my self getting reminded of my mom or dad easily especially when I need a lift. Don't worry this isn't something you alone suffer.

And so the torch is passed. It's your turn to pass on great things to the youngsters. Be strong for them.

Re: My Uncle passed away tonite.

Sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a loved one. All we can do is remember them and all the great times we shared with them. I lost 3 family members and 2 close friends in 1 year to cancer. If I can speak for this whole board, our ears are always open to the members that need to talk.

Re: My Uncle passed away tonite.

Thanks.I'm used to keeping things bottled up but this was something I'd had to put somewhere.I don't like to talk about my feelings alot but when some one else needs to talk I will listen. Not that I will turn around and tell someone else rite off the bat, if you now what I'm trying to say.

I don't like to bother some one else with my problems when everyone else has something more than mine i guess.

Thanks guys for listening and being sympathetic.I wasn't expecting it. JASON
