I've told mine that are not driving yet. Get ready to learn to drive the 3OTT. I think I'd let them take that one to school...

Re: good mormimg! im so proud!

My son got to drive my '71 ochre and white big block truck to school. My daughter drove the '72 blue 307 th350 truck that I gave it to her for graduation and she still has it. I'm sorry for the poor picture quality. Their kids like to ride in Papas trucks , I think I'm raising them right.

That’s awesome!
I will forever remember the look on my son’s face the first time I told him he was driving my truck.
He was 16, (mind y’all, I bought the truck when he was eight weeks old, he’s 31 now, and he’s never known life without it) and we had to run to the Autoparts store.
As we were walking to the truck, a said “you’re driving”
He was speechless. Later he told me that that short drive was the the most intense drive he ever made.

Re: good mormimg! im so proud!

I know that that makes you a Proud Daddy.

Can you ride with her to school one day and let her drive?

Even if it is on a weekend or maybe your vacation day?

This is Monumental News.

Re: good mormimg! im so proud!

I be been building a factory 72 swb k10. But come across a hugger orange c20 the other day so I bought it cheap. 13 yr old grandson wants it on a payment plan. I’d love to give it to him to get him loving these trucks like we all do

I am going through a Similar situation with my Nephew.

He has learned the Dimmer switch is on the Floor when he first started driving this truck a year ago.

I have just this past Weekend / Instilled in his Brain.,
That his first Action needs to be/// Pop the Hood on that 1983 Chevy truck.
It needs Attention when these vehicles get older.

My instructions:

Check the Engine oil.
Because the Rear main seal is leaking.
Check the Transmission Fluid / After it warms up (Turbo 350)

Glance at the Brake fluid while you have the hood up.

And since We replaced the Heater and Radiator hoses and a New coolant Overflow jug this past weekend,
Now he is Aware that the Coolant level has to be at a certain Level.

He is Just 17 years old so I am Somewhat easy on him.

Gotta teach the kids to always do a pre-drive needle and seat check as well as a spark plug rotation.

Re: good mormimg! im so proud!

Many years ago, my 17 yr old daughter borrowed my 69 C10 to help a friend move. It did not have PS or PB back then. She said she was sore for a week!

A few years later her boyfriend borrowed it and let me have his Mustang GT convertible for the day. Now that was a great trade!
