Goldschlager.... 84 Shortbed

What's up everyone. Name is Luis, but everyone knows me by Sin7. I've built a few impala's in the past few years, but decided to get out of the lowrider scene for a while. Now playing around with trucks.... About 9 months ago i decided to quit my corporate 9-5 to start my own business. It's been by far the hardest decision i've made but im enjoying everyday i work from home. With all that being said, figured i'd post pictures of my most recent customer's truck.

This is what i started with. Truck was overall pretty straight and complete.

I'm a one man show but have family that's always willing to lend a hand.

i'll post more pics in a sec...waiting for them to upload

That's a sweet truck to start a project with. What are the plans for it?

Here's Andy cutting out the cowl panel for me. This will be shaved along with the bed stake holes, cab trim and drip rails.

Re: Goldschlager.... 84 Shortbed

Right around this time the owner and I sat down and discussed color combo's and wheels. We decided on a two tone color. Top color will be Light Chestnut Poly. Bottom half will be Navajo white.... He also ordered these 18's from Jegs in late December. When they arrived i convinced him to let me change the color since the gunmetal wouldnt really match the light browns we picked.

Changed the color on the rims

Shot them in Golden Glow Pearl

We opted to use 60's C10 badges on this one. Painted the Chevy insert to match the wheels

Once i started putting it back together i noticed the front sat higher. So we ordered some drop spindles to bring the nose down an extra 3"

Re: Goldschlager.... 84 Shortbed

Color sanding.....This process is a bit more tedious for me since i dont have a booth. Get more contamination in between coats and final clear.... not my favorite part but well worth it.

Yeah wasn't too bad. The guy my customer bought it from cut corners in a few areas, but we'll get them taken care of.

I have about 900 pictures. Kinda hard choosing a handful but hopefully this gives you guys a quick snap shot.

Re: Goldschlager.... 84 Shortbed

I really hated the brown and buckskin on my truck, but I LOVE the brownish/gold color on this one.

Brown tones are hard to pull off. When we sat down to discuss colors we almost chose another combo. Met with my customer 3x at the paint supply store flipping through color books till we settled on these colors. In fact i was even skeptical up until i started shooting the first few coats. Lol
