Re: whats the difference between a 68 and 69 radiator support?

There are 67/68 and 69-72 core supports. 67/68 core supports arm made for that grille. The headlights are spaced wider and there are mounting points for the splash pan. 69-72 core supports are all the same. You buy the core support for the type of grille/fenders/hood your truck has and buy mount bushings for the core support you are using.

Thanks. I guess my next question is how to tell them apart? I bought mine at a swap meet and only know it's a 67-72

Re: whats the difference between a 68 and 69 radiator support?

69-72 will have a single light headlight bucket sticking off of it spot welded on each side. 67/68 will not have that, the headlights attach to the actual core support. This is huge to know, you can not "swap" them between the different front clips without some work (cutting/adding headlight buckets).

GMC's are different as well... have 4 headlights.

Post a picture.

Small pic, but look at headlight area of my truck, you can see it's stamped out (part of) the core support for a 67/68. 69/72 will look the same but have an extra headlight bucket extension area spot welded on top of the bump out as well.

Re: whats the difference between a 68 and 69 radiator support?

Yup 69-72. Frames were the same from 67-72 (with the exception of the steering box area on 67's). So you need the bushing kit that matches the core support... meaning you need 69-72 core support bushings.

Now, are you using a 69-72 Chevrolet front clip (fender, grille, hood?) because a 67-68 clip needs the 67/68 core support (you said the frame is a 68).
