Re: Best place to buy a tilt column?

If you are ok with aftermarket either ididit or Flaming River.

Whatever you decide---DO NOT buy one from CPP.

Summit and Jegs has decent prices on the aftermarket columuns (Ididit/FlamingRiver). DON'T buy one of their Summit brand columns.....

I am curious to why. My mechanic installed it and it looks and works perfect. Have you or others have had bad experience with this column?

Re: Best place to buy a tilt column?

I believe there is a post about unsafe aftermarket steering columns. They use plastic parts in places that shouldn't be. If that plastic knuckle breaks while your driving you will lose all steering. Someone else could probably post the link. Original GM, Ididit and Flaming river are not on the unsafe list.
