WTB - these old school in-cab drink holders

Looking for a pair of these basket-type drink holders as shown in borrowed pic from Undertaker72. Would take whole set-up or just the metal baskets. Thanks, Pete

We used to have those in our boats. I believe they are called "bar buoys"

Re: WTB - these old school in-cab drink holders

When I saw the title I just knew this would be about the Bar Bouys. I wondered when these would be brought back and it figures it would be Pete, with his keen sense of "era correct" to do it. We've seen the Hickey hysteria, the Eagle Venture hood hoopla, the gun rack rigmarole, and the camper/canopy/cap crap. They made a few failed attempts to come back, but Yosemite Sam flaps were a flop (go figure).
I used these for years up until I got to where I didn't want to be drilling holes. My camper had a few mounted around it. They are for boats, but the off road and RV guys out west started using them. Dick Cepek had them in his catalog. So many (CA/AZ) trucks I've bought have had the mounts or just the holes.

Re: WTB - these old school in-cab drink holders

Thanks guys. Kevin (undertaker72) pointed the mounts out to me on pics of a K1500 GMC I'm looking at (contemplating a Highlander redo of the interior). Since it already has the holes/mounts I figured why not make use of them. See mount under vent window on door pic below:

You know those baskets won't fit your holders, correct?

No? That's killing me as those look cool. I can't be certain the bracket holes would match either.

I think yours accept a flat disc shape that slides in, where mine are more of a steel peg. Not sure what to say on the bracket holes...

The clips you have pictured are bar buoys. They are still in business: http://barbuoy.com. They sell a variety of holders now as well as the clips by themselves.

Scott thanks - I'll track down a set.

Do these things work well? Not sure I'd like them well enough to drill the necessary holes but I can see how these would be handy. A set of these, a gun rack, a hat holder, a lighted Air Guide compass, and a CB and I'm set for the road

I know we've always had the metal barbuoy ones in all our boats and they work really well.

hey Pete,
patina could be a problem....mine are over 40 years old and look fairly new.
they work good on the boat as long as I don't go very fast.

I wonder if they ever made them in brass?
