Anyone bought one of these? Good/bad/otherwise?

Seems like a darn good price for a lookalike, probably would pay as much to have the dents taken out of the tank of my old brass radiator.

I bought one for my 62 and I so far had no problems....I'm sure you will get a lot of criticism like me but I felt a $600 USA one was not in my budget. 2yrs and no problems but remember that the finish work is a little sloppy on the welds, but its appearance only...

skimping on a radiator is asking for trouble

if you want an aluminum radiator get one from us radiator

I purchased several things from "Tom's Classics" with no issues but its all off shore stuff...

Good luck finding a shop that WILL take the dents out of a brass radiator.

I had my original radiator recored at a cost of $400. I asked that they fix the dented top and they did a poor job. The rad cools just fine but it bothers me that it looks bad. Hard to justify another $200+ just for appearances.

I bought a 2 core 'stock replacement' radiator off of ebay (I think it was a champion). it is aluminum but is not the stamped tank version that you are looking at (mine is the welded tank model). I am running it on a 4.3L V6 with no fan shroud and it works very well (even in AZ heat) Mine even came with an electric fan, but I am using the stock mechanical fan on the V6, AND mine was a lot cheaper than the one you are looking at.

Just my $.02, but I have had issues with ebay rads. The tubes are very thin. For my money, I buy Speedway Automotive Universal Aluminum cross-flows and have never been disappointed.

My dilemma with the "universal" rads is that they don't look original, and since that is my overall goal with this project, I'm going to look into repairing the rad that came with the truck or buying one that looks like an original rad first. I am going with a Stovebolt engine and would like a radiator that looks period-correct.

I'm with Midlifer on that one. those "universal" radiators might cool ok but just don't look right under the hood to me. I'm not a fan of the welded tank bolt in ones either after seeing a couple of AD trucks over the past couple of weeks.

I bought a three core Champion on Ebay and am really happy with it. Bolted right up, and so far have had no cooling issues, but I have not had a lot of time to test it.

Don't sell a great radiator guy short!
After the deer hit me last October, I wanted my alignment checked immediately!
My mechanic forgot the electric fan is manual and let it idle for too long.

Check the angle of the upper hose bib:

Another angle:

Here it is done and I have put over 700 miles on it in warm conditions with no issues!

The TF model that Dan mentioned appears to be the same radiator I have in my truck. I paid $275, no shipping, at my local dealer. It cools OK but you have to be very careful when working around it. It's very easy to bend the fins. I specifically wanted the original style top tank.
