Coil bolt spacing?
Im at work trying to design a little bracket. I dont have access to my truck and im looking for the bolt hole spacing on the block for the canister coil mount. Possible someone can get this for me. Im trying to make a bracket that does not have slotted holes.

I've been at this for over 50 years and have no clue as to what a "canister coil" is. Can you explain a bit further?

That's just the OEM style coil. I've never heard it called a canister coil either but there are plenty of references that call it a canister coil. Just google it,,,, I did.

Ok now we need to know what engine you are running and where you plan to mount the coil. 216,235, 250, 350, or ?????????????????

3 1/4 inches on all chevy V-8 manifolds that used the almost vertical (standing up) coil mount with one slotted hole. But the dimension can change a little with the diameter of the coil you're squeezing into the holder.

sorry forgot about the engine type. Its a 1955 235. Im plasma cutting a new bracket to hold the new HEI square coil in the old coil location on the cylinder head side. I want the bracket to look clean and that is why i don't want slotted holes showing.
