Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

I struck a deal on two burbs a 1950 chevy with clamshell doors and a 1952/3 also with clamshell. I hope to pick them up in the next couple of weeks.

Both have both front seats. I also worked in a pair of bomber buckets from a 51 panel that I plan to use in the middle.

Yes. The not wrecked one is really rusty so we will take the rear quarter and clamshells off it and graft them onto the wrecked one. My body and fender guy was there when I made the deal.

good for you...anything you cant use DONT scrap. Even rusty is better then nothing and there are plenty of people looking for parts.
I searched all over for rear doors and fenders. Even junk ones are hard to find

Also headliner bows and window garnishing are worth their weight in gold.

Loaded the first one on the trailer after work today. We are taking it 42 miles to the body shop. We plan to do the second one Friday. I will take more pictures then.

Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

I am excited. I believe I will build the gmc out of the pair because it seems like they made less of those in clamshell. Since I have one chevy one gmc I will have to eventually choose.

Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

Turns out the Chevy is a 1949 based on the shocks. My guess is that the gmc is a 52.

Turns out the chevy was a 49 and the gmc a 1953. Soap and water is next.

Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

Quick update. late last fall, I got the title for the GMC that turned out to be a 53. The other one by vin was verified as a 49. Today I started tearing into the 53. All in all it has less than average rust and dents ( except for the passenger side rear quarter panel. The 49 has cancerous rust everywhere except the ps rear quarter. Including the visor area where a rat built a nest.

Today on the 53 I got all the side windows out and all the doors off in preparation for the dent and rust repair. We got a lot done today. Next time I will be tearing into the 49 so that we can remove the needed parts including the rear quarter panel and the clamshells and get them ready to install on the 53.

I will be following along. If you have an extra rear bumper splash panel I'm looking for one and I would be willing to buy it from you.

Nice work

Marc
