not trying to tell how to do things, but y not spend the money and get a deep sump style sump with a windage baffle, something like milidon offers. i put one on my 350, holds a little more than stock, and wasnt much more money. cant remeber how much, but ill look for the billl

Personally, I would just pick up a decent one at a junkyard and have it painted or powdercoated. They are plentiful and you should be able to score one for $10 or so. It might be more of a hassel, but factory replacment parts from GM tend to be expensive. You might want to price one out first. I'm pretty sure you could refinish an old one much cheaper. Just an idea.
