Re: 8" dual diaphragm booster

Because of the offset bracket and linkage that a '67-'72 uses the easiest thing to do is just buy a complete aftermarket one. I think I paid about $200 for mine on eBay with a new master cylinder.

The 8" is not stock for the truck, so the regular auto parts stores won't have a clue. Best bet is to buy it from an aftermarket company. I don't know the quality, but I think CPP has them.

I bought one from Advanced auto for a 1993 C-1500. Had to modify the rod to match the original bracket setup and make up a plug to fill the hole in the master, but it works very nice. You can make any GM booster fit with some minor mods.

Re: 8" dual diaphragm booster

If I understand you correctly, you're looking for an OEM parts store 8" dual diaphragm booster?

If so, as far as I know, only Mopar, and maybe some Fords ran that style of booster in an OEM application. If that holds true, it is not a bolt in application for GM. The aftermarket boosters have been modified to fit GM applications as it's just a casing and holes, the insides function the same.

You'll need to purchase an aftermarket setup for your truck.

Like this one?

IIRC late 70's Corvettes used something very close to the one in my pic. I think I had to reference the number on my old one to replace it, but it wasn't an aftermarket-only part.

Re: 8" dual diaphragm booster

I got one 15 or so years ago off a Chevy wrecker for my 70 C10 but never used it.

What is the benefit over regular boaster?

Thanks

Re: 8" dual diaphragm booster

I bought a aftermarket chrome 8". I figured it would look good and perform well!m I do not like it at all. It feels weak compared to the old 11" one that I took off the truck.

Old setup:

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
