86 steering column wheel lock
A search did not pull up much, except for the process for removing the lock cylinder.
On the newer columns, with the dimmer on the stalk, is there a method to disable the steering wheel lock, so it is inoperable? Can somebody just remove the lock pin? Mr. Gasket has a little button one can put on the cylinder affixed to the outside, to keep floor shift conversions from accidentally locking the wheel at speed, but that is not desirable. Also, has anyone used any aftermarket column sleeves without a hole for the shifter arm, and what is their quality? Thanks for any input.
