Plan B Motor for my t5

So had a perfect late 50s 235 with the good head that I was having rebuilt for my 53 and I finally had a t5 for it and the machine shop said they found a crack in the head. damnit.

I have a 54 235 that I'm gonna try next, but if that got a crack, I think I will have to give up on the stovebolts and just get another crate 350.

So here's my question: is anyone here actually running a t5 behind a stock 350? I've read and I've read about it, but I am searching for first hand experience. If I go 350, I would try to dial it down a bit and use ram horns or whatever will fit and try to keep the hp/torque down a bit and i don't drive crazy anyway. I ultimately an working on a reliable truck that can cruise and keep up with traffic and is safe. Needless to say, the 350 will lead me down the dark path to the Mustang II hahahaha. Thanks for your input as always!
