Electric fan sensor location?
Currently I'm using single speed dual fans with a 180 sensor and a 180 thermostat. My sensor is in the intake and my electric temp gauge is in the driver head. I keep getting spikes up to 210-215. Is this normal or should I put the sensor in the passenger/driver head?

Re: Electric fan sensor location?
Seems about normal. I assume your fans don't come on until 180? Keep in mind the temp difference between the intake coolant passage and at the cylinder head is about 20-25 degree difference so the readings you are seeing isn't too far off. Gauge sensors located in the cylinder head will always make the engine "appear" to be running hotter than expected.

Re: Electric fan sensor location?
The gauges are always good to have but I wouldn't have a LS swap without my scan gauge 2. It reads what the PCM is reading so I go by those over my gauges in the dash.
These are just random pictures of mine. You can set it up to read just about anything the PCM can. You plug it into the ALDL on the PCM and they are $120.00 at auto zone. You can clear codes and it tells you what codes are.
