Hello all,

I am having a hard time finding the inner door molding for a 52 chev 3100 (goes around the inside window opening), there is readily available for 47-50, not for doors with vent windows. Has anyone purchased before? if so from where?

I'm not finding any new 51/54 that have the cut out for the vent wings.

I think I have a pair of decent painted ones out in the shed but got sidetracked today and didn't get to check if you can't find new ones.

I'm going out on a limb and say that the aftermarket doesn't offer the 51/54 version that is cut out for the vent window post because most guys building custom trucks go with one piece glass.

Can't the early style (47-50 with no vent windows) be notched to accommodate vents? Seems like a simple job with a die grinder.

I think they can but I was going to go out and dig out a couple of each to check today and Ended up wasting most of my day chasing down the stuff I needed to do a little project.

I made a note to get some photos tomorrow.

Thank you for the replies. This is what I know so far, I have the passenger side original trim with the cut out. From stove bolt:
- "Note on the interior window trim: Although they look similar, the stainless trim I bought from a 47-50 (no vent windows) is completely different from my '54 trim. See photo. Non-vent interior trim on left is a little "thinner" than 3/4" at the bottom and a little "thicker" than 3/4" at the top. Interior trim for vent window doors is a little thinner than 1" at the bottom and a little thicker than 1" at the top. Of course there is a cut out for the vent on the bottom of the '54 trim and a screw hole on the bottom of the '54 trim vs no hole on the non-vent trim. There is also a weld visible on the inside of the bottom of the '54 trim near the vent."

Right now It is a maybe I have some but I want to post the differences between the 47/50 and 51/54 units. What I have may all be 47/50 except the bent up 51 one on the door that came on the cab I am using the back half of.

I dug through my batch of window moldings and found a pair off a 51.

Top photo should show the difference between the 47/50 and the 51/54 from the back side. Along with the cut out for the vent wing post there is about a 1/4 inch strip removed from the bottom edge.

The drivers side molding is about a nice a used one as you will find that hasn't been redone. the passenger side has a ding where it looked like someone tried to pry it off at some time. It was still on the door that is a pretty nice 51 door.

Another look at that ding in the right hand side one. It is cold and windy outside today. Third shot is the drivers side door off the orange cab that I am using on my build, Evidently the hinge or latch were worn out for quite a while and they banged against the door to open it.
At my age you make notes to remember.
