Looks great to me, the only thing I see wrong with it is it's not in my yard.

And how many Supers (or any '72 model for that matter) had the white/color/white paint scheme? Is that a Canadian thing in 72?

Edit: looks like the white/color/white paint scheme was possible in 71-72 according to post #9 here.

Cool truck!

Cool truck!
Special Two Tone (white/color/white) was only available in 69-70 (with only a few exceptions), and 598 RPO with med green as the primary color was 1970 only (598 in 69 was white/silver/white). I'd have to assume this was an Oshawa thing - Canadian-built trucks did offer some colors and two tone schemes not offered in the U.S. and this is apparently one of them. Very interesting.

Damn Eric that truck is looking awesome. I’m quite jealous. That’s the truck I was referencing earlier in this thread.

That was my initial thought too. But how do you interpret SS Tim's post that I linked to above (especially the last paragraph in post #9)? Perhaps the Special Two Tone only applies to suburbans? Unless someone can document a US-built 71-72 with Special Two Tone, then maybe this was in fact just an Oshawa variant.

I know where an alleged 71 ochre and white K20 is presumably original paint in the special two tone. I have been trying to buy it for about 3 years now, I haven’t been able to get a spid shot yet so this could easily be an older repaint or a grill swapped 69-70. The owner (a co worker) swears it’s an original paint 71 though.
If I’m ever able to document I will surely do so. I’m waiting for the day he’s hard up for cash.

Re: Picked up anouther 72 c10 Super Ch.

Couple squirts of the starter fluid fired right up smoked a bit realy old gas and old oil shut it off going to do oil change put tires on it drive it off the trailer .

Blue motor so I guessing it was changed or rebuilt sounds good for what little I ran it. battery date was 2005 was probably when she got parked

I think Tim and I are saying the same thing. Special Two Tone was available on trucks in 69-70. Yes, definitely also available on burbs in 71-72 (and 68 anniv truck as Tim mentioned). The fact that this Oshawa truck has a 598 RPO rather than the Special Paint nomenclature tells me it was an available option in 72 - but I do believe it would be for Oshawa only, as they had some different combos and unique colors - some purples, corals, and a rather wild green. I could swear I've seen a 71-72 US truck in Special Two Tone - but seem to recall it had Special Paint on the SPID. Anyway, just a theory on this being an Oshawa thing, would love to see a listing of all the Canada color options and schemes by year along with their RPO codes...

Glad to hear she fired up, if you can get to see the block numbers then you'll know what it is huh.

I've been watching this thread. I love your new to you '72, also love the roof clearance lights. I really want a 1972 so badly.
