Two tone painted jamb question

My truck is a 70 C20, going to be painted med blue and white with side trim. The 1st 2 pictures I got online show 2 versions of how the jamb was painted, one is the entire depth of the upper painted white and the other is just partially painted. Anyone know what's correct ?
Also I painted backs of doors and fenders and plan on painting inside the cab, firewall and jambs, then assemble and final paint. Tips on painting the 2 tone jamb that way ? Thanks
