What's this?

Found this under the front end of my 70 GMC. Looks like a rubber bushing for the front end, but I find nothing missing.

Thanks much...Don.

That was the 1st thing I thought of as well but the 2 bushings look to be in place. I'll double check.

Thanks much...Don.

Hey Don, your pic shows what may be just the outer side/half of one rubber bushing cut off by the edge of a bushing mounting clamp/strap. You may want to have another look at your front end, we recently added the below OE front sway bar to a customers truck and there are four bushings (see MOOG @ yellow arrows) needed for mounting the bar. Re: What's this?

That's interesting, Mel. The sway bars I have seen use end links instead of what you show. Granted, I have only seen them on a relatively limited number of vehicles.

I think Classic Bowties is correct. The other part of the bushing may still be in the shell.

Re: What's this?

Thank you all!!.

Driver side front bushing, only thing left is the middle part. All 4 bushings are old, cracked, dry rotted. It's been added to the to-do list. Will prolly need many other front end parts, other rubber type parts.

FWIW...truck has been sitting in my barn past 7 or so years. No brakes. Im on the down hill side of getting her outta the barn, fingers crossed, end of August. She needs a battery, new tires. I just wanna be able to drive her around the block this year.

Thanks once again.
Very much appreciated....Don.

Be careful with that this "year" I think I've had about 6 of those already.
