Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Anyone used and know who is selling the most OEM looking Cab and Rad support rubber/bushing/bolt sets for 69-72 K10? I have ordered/received a couple from different vendors and they just don't look like the OEM.
I saw an ad on Classic Parts that looks pretty good but don't want to order another bag of stuff without some input. (1967-72) Cab Mount Kit-C20-30/K10/K20-Rubber Thanks for any help. |

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Have you tried GMC Paul's? I got all these for my 72 C10 and they by mistake included (extra) K10 lower radiator rubber support. I sold them on the parts board to @Richard. It seems he didn't like the other's he got because they were not correct for 4x4.
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=846666 Aside from that, I wouldn't say the others were a 100% match to the ones I took off - though they are working fine and didn't muck up my lines.

Thanks, the rad support one's I have found are close and yours did look pretty good. However, the cab mounts I have are just a box of wish I didn'ts.

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Good luck, I am sure some K owners will chime in. You could also reach out to GMC Paul's too - they are worth at least chatting to. You might be able to PM them too for a Q&A.
Here's their Profile link. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=508

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Still looking for someone who makes nice, OEM looking replacement rubber for cab mounts K10 (1969). Or, someone who has purchased some nice ones to say where they got them and post a picture of them (K10 fitment).
I just took my OEM stuff out of a week long soak in rust remover and conditioner. Although the bolts, bushings and washers are OK, the rubber is too far gone for re-use. Pictures posted to show part numbers in case anyone has a line on some NOS or OER parts. Thanks |

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
CKfan,
I would get a hold of Wes Hepp, who is currently building “Beths Tribute Truck” https://www.classicheartbeat.com/ Check out his quality build here: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...820543&page=11 I bought my radiator, cab mount bushing kits and weatherstripping from him. All quality restoration parts. Over the years, Wes has dealt with the manufacturers in the redesigning/improvement of rubber restoration parts for our trucks. Good Luck,

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Front and rear cab mounts purchased from Wes @ Classic Heartbeat for my K10. Look like the oem pieces. The LMC units purchased previously put the back of cab to low. As stated by Classic parts, C20, C30, K10, K20 all the same. Classic parts is a good source as well and my first go to as shipping is better. Cannot say if Classic Parts cab mounts are the same as Classic Heartbeat. The thread on rear bolts from Classic Heartbeat seem to short as I cannot suck the cab low enough to line up with bed. I Have rubber pads under bed and still to long, will probably use stock bolts.
Edit- your rear mounts seem to be several inches short from reaching the cab? From your posts I assume you have a newer frame and drivetrain. How are the rear mounts so compressed when they are no where near the cab?

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
Received my mounts from Classic Parts today (Item 35-146) Cab mount kit C20-30 K10 K20 rubber 67-72.
Pretty darn close if I do say. Will add a washer on the bottom of the rear mount and swap a couple bolts and should be in business. Classic also includes a square nut for the top rear in case your cage nut is damaged. I don't care for the square shims but won't know if shims are needed until front end is mounted. If needed, I will probable opt for some type of horseshoe shim. The rear bolts do seem a bit long but they work and closely resemble the OEM ones. The only little "appearance" difference that is obvious is the lower rear rubber doesn't have quite the "hour glass" shape of the original but I have a lead on some NOS just a matter of $$$$$. All in all, a good looking reproduction for sure (IMO). Happy building Last edited by CKfan; 09-07-2023 at 06:12 PM. Reason: Clarification |

Re: Cab and rad supports replacement rubber kits??
One thing I am wondering about: On top of the front cab mount where the square spacer/washer is in Richard's photo. When I pulled off my front mounts there was a 2" diameter by 1/2" rubber disc (no metal attached) on each side between the bottom of the cab and the top of the spacer that mounts to the frame.
I have not seen this part for sale and it is not shown in the mounting kits. Compressed, this rubber disc would easily be as thick as two square washers/shims in Richard's photo. ANY ideas??? I am thinking of just putting mine back even though they are pretty ruff. I had to pry them out to begin with as they were really bonded to the bottom of the cab when pulled the cab off. |

Hope this helps.
In the picture you may note my mistake of getting too liberal with the dielectric grease. Happy building |
