Door Decals

Know if a 67-72 LH door had the GM decal on the right, and where it goes? Thank you

Looks like you can have the LH one made for too close to $100 https://www.ebay.com/itm/15311632271...SABEgKH-fD_BwE

The "GM Mark of Excellence" decal was never applied to a truck anywhere.

Re: Door Decals

I believe that Jeff at https://outintheshop.com/ reproduces the sticker on the left but I don't know his price. There are several posts on this forum by members who have had him make one for them. He's also the "go-to-guy" for SPID reproduction. Here's a thread that shows an example his "blue sticker." https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=789425

I'm going to have to agree with this statement. My original paint 67 C20 has one on the passenger door & evidence from where one had been on the driver's door.

Re: Door Decals

of all the trucks i've had, never had a 67 so i can't say although there's a couple 67 trucks with the GM Mark of excellence decal, there wasn't a GM decal on my 72 original paint (Fremont built) truck when i got it or was there ever.my 67 Impala wagon (Baltimore built i believe) that was 1 owner and original paint, had one on the drivers side door only.i seem to recall something a different color decal as well after 68 or 69??

Sometimes I get full of myself. I meant 71/72. I am sure you guys are right about 67 having them. I guess now I will have to look at My original paint 67 when I get near it.

Re: Door Decals

The other decal (one on the left) didn't come on our trucks until around mid 69 if memory serves. Definitely not in 67 or 68.

I think you're right about 1969, the oldest tags appear to be late 1969 for 1970 models. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=815033

I'll send you my email, but my guess is it's just slow because of the images. I think we've got it figured out though, I corrected post 14. It appears the LH decal was installed in 1970 through 72 trucks.

Not sure what decals were install in 68-69 trucks.

Thanks Greg, I was wondering about a coolant decal. Ironically the date on those decals is my truck's build date as well. So looks like my engine bay isn't done after all, destiny says I need that decal. But odds my truck had the prior version. I could just add it, and say, "oh yeah, that's the build date"

Engine coolant decal?
Do I need one for my 1972 C10?
Another decal to procure for that finishing touch

To the OP,
Jeff did a beautiful job reproducing both my SPID and the driver door blue decal.

I'll contact him for the door decal. He did my spid too, really good.

That coolant decal is $8.50 plus $6.99 shipped.

Do I add the one that matches my build date or the one most likely in the truck, what a conundrum. Interesting, those decals say "for proper temperature light operation". To my knowledge the indicator on gauge clusters have no light at all.

The newer version shows better freezing protection, a nice jump for those up North. Today's Delco still offers -34 protection. Difference is it lasts a lot longer.
