Some on this board my know this name some may not. Back when the market of 67-72 trucks started there were mainly 3 people that did it. Seth Dalton, Gary Terry, and Jerry Brown. All 3 brought this hobby to where it is today. Jerry and Gary built some of the best trucks that most people have ever seen. And most of them if found almost still look the same as they did the day they were built. Jerry started his business in the eary 80's selling parts and built trucks. At that time aftermarket did not exsist. I worked with Jerry for 23 years. Started at the age of 18 and he showed me the world of trucks and truck parts. I thought he was crazy for some of the prices he was getting for trucks at that time. He was a true pioneer of this business and hobby that we enjoy. It is with a sad heart that I post this but Jerry passed away yesterday afternoon. Some loved him, others disliked him but the mark he left on the truck world will be remembered by many.

So sorry to hear of this, I was at a truck shpw this past weekend and a few were talking to me and his name was brought up. They said he was in a nursing home. Spent many hours taling with him and getting advice from him over teh years at carlisle and charlotte shows.
Prayers for his family and friends. Great man and very knowledgeable.

Jason, thank you for posting this. Indeed a great loss to our hobby. I always looked forward to stopping by the Truck Shop (TN) tent at Carlisle and talking to you and Jerry. I really missed this over the past few years, as did many others I know. Jerry would always bust me "you got that truck done yet?" Jerry was a wealth of knowledge and always kind to my brother and I. Always had great stories as well. His truck builds were top notch, and the prices he got for these trucks proved it. I've spent way too much money with Jerry, but have no regrets about it. It was worth the friendship that I gained.

My brother bought an original paint truck from Jerry at Carlisle, we did not have the money with us to pay for it. Jerry said "don't worry, just drive the truck home and send me the money when you can". That's the kind of guy Jerry was. He always treated us well.

RIP Jerry, I completely blame you for my 67-72 truck addiction and NOS parts addiction, and I truly thank you for that!

I am very sorry this. I had know Jerry since the early 90’s. His knowledge was second to none. I have been to his shop three times over the years. One trip he even had us over to his house while Hw finished cutting his grass. Really enjoyed hanging out you and Jerry at Carlisle.
I have given him many $$$ over the years Lol.

I really hate to hear this. I dealt with him a few times and still have a couple of his old catalogs and I remember his adds in Hemmings motor news. Great guy to talk to and deal with.

I knew Jerry very well. He was a true gentleman and a pioneer in '67-'72 trucks and parts. Ironically, I was at Gary Terry's last week and while there, we talked about the times we all had together....mostly at Super Chevy in Indy. I knew them both and became a close friend. Both men were instrumental in building the '67-'72 brand.

i went by his shop one time he met me up there on a sunday.. he gave me a tour of all his parts. a few months after that i starting parting out trucks... prayers for you and for the family

Jason, thanks for bringing this news to us. I knew Jerry was in decline which was the reason he got out of the business. He was a good guy who truly had his heart in the 67-72s. He build trucks for Nashville stars. His trucks were the hallmark for others to try to match. Attention to detail was his way. I could write a list a mile long of great parts I got from him. Sold him a thing or two over the years, also. His name will not be forgotten in the 67-72 world. Jason, you did great work under that roof. You deserve a lot of credit here and thanks again for bringing this sad news to us. May Jerry Brown rest in peace

When I got my 69 truck in 1989, I remember seeing Truck Shop ads in the back of Truckin' magazine. If they had a catalog, I'm sure I "sent off for one".

Bought a few OE-type parts from him that my Chevy dealer couldn't get. There were others, too, like Golden State, where I sometimes dealt with the president (or manager?) which may have been Ms. Seth Dalton.

I met Jerry at the Food lion Auto fair at Charlotte Motor speedway in the mid 90s
What a 1st class guy, he was a walking 67/72 truck encyclopedia for sure, I spent hours admiring his trucks and his craftsmanship. When I built Big Orange I bought several suburban only parts from him, not to mention the knowledge he shared with me, and that lil paperback catalog he had. Condolences to the family.

I always thought it was cool that he had the name "Truck Shop" long before the one in Orange County, CA ever came to exist, yet didn't make a legal fit over it. That's a true gentleman right there. Just kept on giving his best to the hobby and neither party suffered

Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman. Worked part-time over the years for an engine builder and a classic car repair shop. Member here for 23 years! This is the very first car/truck Internet forum I joined. I still used a dial-up modem back then!
