Piece of crap flaring tool!!!!!

What are my options for flaring a 3/8 brake line? I have gone to O'reilly's and Autozone to rent there flaring tool but they are junk. They don't hold the line in place to do a double flare. The line just slips through. Any input would be aprrectiated. I am at my end on this v6 to v8 coversion. I have is to plumb the fuel lines and a few other things but I am ready to roll this truck off of a cliff.

Buy quality tools, or buy the pre-flared tubing and connect it with couplings.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to have some braided lines made tomorrow from a local hydraulic shop. I will call them tomorrow to see what they have to offer for fuel. Thanks again

I know what you mean about it slipping! We were making a new line and since it had been a while since I double flared, I had a little extra to practice on. Yep...it slipped the first time. So I found that you really have to tighten that tubing clamp really good. So I put it in my vise to tighten the wingnuts. That did it, I had to cheater pipe tighten it to keep it from slipping. So if you give another try, you might try this.

Re: Piece of crap flaring tool!!!!!

I tried all the above on several flaring tools with no luck. I went out and had some lines made. Thanks for your input.
