Time to kick-out the jambs on my '00 S-10

Well it doesn't look like gas is going to get any cheaper, and the job application I put in to be the president of General Motors seems to be getting ignored. That said I've decided to reward my '00 S-10 for ten good years of economical service by doing all of the things I've ever wanted to do to it except for dropping in a V8.

It looks like a major truck magazine is going to follow along, but I'll be on here with updates, and also to ask you guys for suggestions and input on what I've done so far. Here's a shot of the little guy out in the street behind my other workhorse.

Don't bother telling me the chrome plated naked lady mud flaps are tacky I won't take them off they remind me of my last girlfriend... She had chrome plated hair, and stuck out in front up top.

Hey thanks. I guess I better get busy huh? My '00 is a 2.2 so one of the first things I'm going to do, is drop in a new set of plugs, and install DUI's hot coils, plug wires to see if I can wake it up. I think I'm going to go with Magnaflow's cat, and muffler.

Doe's anyone know of a California legal header for a 2.2?

There used to be a turbo kit, are they still around?

Hey thanks a lot. I checked out their site. The idea sounds intriguing, the only hold back might be CA legality.

Also my '00 is a flex-fuel, I wonder what happens when E-85 is used? In Brazil there's nothing but E-85, and the turbo setups down there don't use an intercooler because of the much colder inlet temps.

Thanks again!

I would hold off on the ignition stuff until you add boost. otherwise it's a waste of time and money.

Well I've got 75,000 miles on the original plugs, and I already have the DUI hot coils, so I'm going to go ahead and drop them in. I'd like to do a dyno comparo on this change alone just to see what if any horsepower increase there will be.

I just remembered Jackson Racing in Westminster, CA. rents dyno time. I'm going to call Mark and see if I can get the truck over to him.

I will be adding boost a little later in the game.
