ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

This thread is for those who are buying ACC carpet from Rock Auto.

I needed a high tunnel carpet for my 69 Chevy 2wd automatic truck (modified) so I ordered this:

ACC 19819340
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...,flooring,1264

It states that TH400 is a high tunnel. I should have done my research here on the forums. Consensus is that only the 4x4's got the high tunnels.

What I received was a low tunnel kit.

I did not discover the problem in time and could no longer return it.

I ended up ordering again. I ordered as a 69 K20 4x4 pickup:
ACC 20768340
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...,flooring,1264

Here are some pics to compare. The middle part is the transmission hump and the white label is the front.

High tunnel

I hope this helps and stops anyone from making the same mistake I did.
What a pain in the ass!

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

Big block, 4x4, or 2wd 4 speed are high tunnel

All others = low tunnel

Easy way to tell: High tunnels bolt in, small tunnels are welded in and integrated into the cab floor.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

Wow...didn't know this... Yesterday I added the TH400 carpet to my Rock Auto shopping cart for my 2wd 4speed high hump truck that I am converting to automatic. I was afraid to order the 4speed carpet because I thought it might have a hole in it.

Very good information here. How bad and incorrect the pictures are, that ACC and Rockauto have chosen to represent the product. It is a crying shame.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

I'm going through the same ordeal right now. I read this weeks ago and knew about the issue and went as far as emailing ACC to confirm that the "original 400 transmission was a high tunnel" carpet was correct for a high hump and they said yes. Low and behold, it showed up as a low tunnel. I have an email into Rock Auto right now asking them to send me one meant for the 4-speed which should be a high tunnel according to ACC. It is a different part number so hopefully it's correct.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

Rock Auto is not the only one. Stock Interiors implies all TH400s require high hump carpet. When I searched for carpet for my '69 C20 with TH400 and low hump I got this "1967-1972 Chevy Full Size Truck, Standard Cab Carpet, 400 Transmission, High Tunnel". Luckily, when I saw this I became very cautious when I bought mine from Rock Auto.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

I believe Stock Interiors is the same company as ACC If there was another choice other than ACC I would use them but it looks like ACC is the only company making carpets.\

I too had an awful experience with Rock Auto and ACC

Application was a 1972 Jimmy on which it matters what the binding at the rear edge of the carpet looks like since it can be seen. Long story short It took filing a claim with the BBB for RockAuto to get them to pay the return shipping charges which they promised to pay then changed their mind on.

After 3 different carpets seemingly made on what Im guessing was BirdBox challenge day at the factory It took an email to the owner of ACC to finally get a carpet made that had the edges trimmed straight and the binding sewn on properly.

Both companies also had extremely rude people dealing with customer service.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

ACC conceded that they sent the wrong carpet and through Rock Auto paid the return shipping and sent me the correct high hump carpet.

This!

I believe ACC is simply misinformed about the application differences for 67 to 72. If a cc used the simple and same guideline as above AND noted hi hump or low hump with those application guidelines it would end all confusion around ordering. I was about to order carpet myself in the next couple weeks and checked into it and noticed how confusing their application guideline is. Completely full of holes. My application is a 69 with a factory 350 and turbo 400 which is low hump. 69 396- Turbo 400 is a high hump from the factory, Hence the confusion. ACC must have endless problems with the customer receiving the incorrect carpet. I’m actually going to try to take this on and see if I can speak with somebody to straighten out this problem once and for all. Thanks all of you for your input, this will help me get the right product the first time!

I know this is a little late but I've seen that TMI products offers a 3 piece carpet kit that looks pretty good. Costs a little more but maybe better quality? Thinking of ordering it.

It's nice to see there is an alternative but probably not one I would consider. It looks a bit choppy. TMI's carpet set has several seams on the separate middle section for the transmission hump up instead of one continuous form fitted piece like the original factory and ACC carpet set.

Re: ACC Carpet Rockauto PSA

I ordered carpet from rock auto also and ordered for a 1972 2wd with a 400 trans, w/o gas tank in the cab, and column shift. The part number is ACC 17901230, and used it in my 1969 cab with a high hump. I didn't have any issues at all with mine.
