In 2001 I was looking for a old chevy..I found a 1970 c20 454,turbo 400 in the truck trader...$3500..When I called the ad,gentlemen said truck has four flat tires,no battery,does not run...He gave me directions to the truck...Down gravel roads in a undeveloped area in the middle of the town...Truck was left in a falling over garage stacked full of gabage in the bed..I had a new battery with me,pumped up all four tires,put 5 gallons of 98 octane in the tank and a little in the carb,,,she fired rite up and I drove it out of their..I drove it 20 miles to the owners real house,,he was shocked,,his wife hated it,said thats why it was not in his driveway..paid $3000..I drove the truck for 6 years..I sold the truck to my dad for $3000,he drove the truck for 3 years,,his wife hated it(stepmom),,he gave it back to me after a fight with his wife.. I sold it to a friend a year later for $3000..,he moved it once in 6 months,moved it back to my driveway after he got frusterated that it did not start when he went out to it after sitting for six months..this truck will not die and has been given back to me now twice for free......

I just bought a rebuilt 454/400 turbo tranny for $1000,,I also ordered a custom made set of big block headers from a board member..The truck deserved some motor attention........Hey Clyde I would have given you the truck,,but you live in texas and it costs to much to ship it......

I'd always keep that truck. Well,until you might forecast hard times ahead. The you could sell it,put that money in a safe place,wait until the buyer gave it back,and just when the hard times are sure to hit sell it again! If the hard times are longer and worse than anticipated...don't worry,you can always depend on the truck coming back so you'll always have something to drive if your other vehicle gives up the ghost.

I had two guys today offer me $3500 and I donot have the new rebuilt motor in the truck yet...Soon it will be snowing and taking up space in the shed...
