Yeah its' already got a different motor. That's a tough call buddy. I'm glad I'm not you.
 A little lower maybe and drive it for a while. Shorten it maybe? It'll look great either way.

It seemed for a while that every truck I bought HAD to be a short bed. Weather bought or built that way I just thought they would bring more at time to let go. But being a car dealer / body shop guy I am thinking of the end on every thing I buy. The truck has lost its original status so why not do what ever you want. You [and the rest of us] buy these for our entertainment and enjoyment. What better way to enjoy one than making it what YOU want? Jim

Make it short bed. Less useful is the new trend. But seriously ... I would check over the
brakes, drive train, fuel system, wiring, etc, and start hauling with it as is.

Clean it up, repair the mechanicals that are needing attention, put on matching color rally wheels all the way around... and DRIVE IT !!!!!
Then, one lazy day, as you are walking towards it at the grocery store... it will come to you what you want to do with it. Maybe somewhere in the meantime, somebody will come up to you and offer you the right amount of money to help you buy that other one you like that doesn't need any work.

...some great advice here.
I would agree....just drive it for now until you figure out what you like and what you don't. That said....I like the patina, so I'd keep the paint...but I'd lose those rally wheels and go to either nice rims or original wheels/caps....and maybe a 2/3 drop. My two bits...and thats a nice truck, good find (tilt, tach, big block....great stuff) Coley
