Crossmember swap?
I scored a complete crossmember and disc setup, brake booster and 12 bolt ,3.73 posi out of a 78 this weekend, all for 500 bones. Now i need to get em under the truck. I know theres got to be a few posts about the front crossmember swap on the board but i searched and couldn't find em, so maybe somebody can point me in the right direction or just answer my questions.
I'm just wondering if its worth the effort to pull the motor to throw the crossmember in, and if i can expect any other major complications other than drillin out a couple holes. and for the rearend, if there anything special i need to tell the guy when i get my spring perches welded on for the coil spring rear end?

That is the same route I went with and I would say it's a fair amount of work be worth... If you are gonna have new pearche's welded on I would check the pinion angle before you have em welded that way you know they will be right...

you dont have to pull engine. lay 4x4 across fenders with chain bolted to front of heads. first remove mount thru bolts & lift with jack & block under pan.
