Re: AC Delete heater box

Bought something similar a few years ago. Not sure if it is the same exactly. Mount holes for the cover was undersized needed re-drilled but fit was decent. You shouldn't need anything but the delete cover if your fan, core is good. Maybe some RTV for the seal.

Re: AC Delete heater box

Is this comparable to a factory non ac truck box? The way it bolts on

Re: AC Delete heater box

Seems like a lot of coin for something that most trucks came with from the factory. I have an extra one in the attic.

Re: AC Delete heater box

Im kinda throwing the idea of using something like this to run vintage air through instead of shaving my firewall.

Re: AC Delete heater box

It's my understanding that a factory non a/c heater box wont fit on an a/c firewall. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Re: AC Delete heater box

You are correct, this kit eliminates the huge ac box and allows you to keep the heater and blower motor.

Re: AC Delete heater box

Yes there are absolute differences in the A/C trucks and non A/C trucks. the firewall sheet metal is different. You cannot use a heater box from a non A/C truck and put it on a A/C firewall without having uncovered pass throughs.

The kit in the link fixes that problem and covers everything correctly.

Re: AC Delete heater box

i just installed the acdelete.com kit on my truck, it was a pain in the butt and i would value it at about $100. live and learn but i could of saved some money and not bought this kit. i will say it does look much better than the huge factory ac box.

Re: AC Delete heater box

u have to mount the two pieces of fiberglass together then calk them, if it were one moulded piece of abs it would be better. then i took the hood hinge off to make installation
easier.
