Nice looking truck! Jakeslim-those white letters on the firewall were from the factory, when they built it-as it went down the assembly line! Mines got em too-only ALOT rustier.

Would you consider a trade for a '96 S-10 extended cab pickup with cold A/C, 145k miles (highway back and fourth from Dallas-Houston) and runs great? Gas milage is 23/19 highway/city

The white grease pencil lettering/numbering was done at the factory... presumably as part of the assembly process. I'm not sure if it's part of the VIN or not.. You can always tell a clean original if the lettering is in place. It can also be found on the rear-most cross member of the frame (marked upside down!).

my blazer has the white lettering also, I just was not sure what it was for. Cool, then my old 69 is looking better everyday!

TTT- Someone buy this...there were only 4900 or so mfg'd! Think how many
have gone to "rust heaven" , the crusher and even accidents. Its a great deal

this is a very dependable truck. it has new : front seats, front bumper, new brakes (drum though), u joints, dash pad, carb has just been rebuilt. motor runs great has good oil pressure.4 wheel drive works good. also new tierods and steering shaft and alignment. like i said before i am very negotiable but no trades. i would like someone who will take care of this to have it.

Ok, my plan is to come out Saturday. Will you be home in the morning?

Assuming all goes well, would it be ready to go home with me (assuming that the truck is in good condition and I can get the cash?)

Durn, TX? Ya'll just like to sell these nice trucks where I can't get to them to tease me dont you !

Wanna bring it to MD? I'll give you 5000 cash and buy your airline ticket back? I can't leave here until Nov 19th.

You'll get what your asking, no worries. It looks like a great truck for now or for a project!

Question

I found someone who would be willing to drive over to TX for me if the need arose. But that means shopping by internet !!

1) To help Can you Take some more pics for all of us intrested! (a few of each as you see fit)

a) pics of the winshield frame rust prone areas?
b) where the top mounts to the winshield frame
c) the Top where it mounts to the winshield
d) The inside of the top
e) the rear hatch hindges
f) The bottom of the tailgate and bed inside (and out)
g) Some interior pics
h) inner fender wells under the hood?
i) Any other areas that may be of concern

I know thats a big order but there are many here that'll drive great distances and if its as nice as it looks from a distance the more we know the more likely we will come take it off your hands!

2) Can you give an idea of what you know about the engine history, oil usage/leaks, Trans history?

3) Also where in TX are you? (city name?)

Thank you for your time! This is for me but it may help someone else out as well!

JT
