Greetings

New here. Just finished installing an Olds 403 into my 79 LWB Scottsdale that once upon a time had an Olds diesel in it. The darn thing is a big ol' pile of dookie, but has a killer engine.

The 403 is built with KB pistons and a middle of the road CompCams camshaft. Should make right around 400 ft/lbs of torque.

I am reusing the th400 that it had, but am on the hunt for some 3.42 gears to replace the 2.73s that are in it now.

The interior is pretty shot and I need a dash pad and most of the guages and the panel that goes on it....but it does go vroom!

Re: Greetings

Thanks. It looks better in pics than it really is!

There is a lot a rust on the doors and on the floor boards, at least the corners aren't rotten. The bed is rotten on most of the floor, especially where the PO had left some rubber that trapped water.

I got it for a song at a county auction, it already had a worn out Olds 350 in it, so the "conversion" was sort of done, albeit a hack job, so I had to fix a lot as I was going. The only thing that is right is the drive line.

Basically, I guess its got a LONG way to go.

Re: Greetings

Yeah body work seems to always be the biggest thing with these trucks.

Re: Greetings

Thanks for the welcome(s). Will start driving it soon, switching between it and an 82 Dodge D150.
