i have been picking up glass jars, mostly quart size, that was going to a buddy of ours that made moonshine. unfortunately the gentleman was killed in a atv accident last Wednesday afternoon. these jars are new and i have no use for them now. if someone knows of a person that still cans fruits or vegetables they can have these, just come pick them up.

i understand completely, hopefully someone local can use them otherwise they will go into the recycle barrel next week.

It would be a shame to toss them. My wife had trouble finding them during last years canning season, at least here in central Iowa....

I am so Sorry to hear about your Friend.

I am a Collector of those Jars.

I have them on top of my Cabinets in my Kitchen.

I am willing to pay for Bubble wrap.

And Shipping cost.

What would a USPS Priority Mail box of what will fit it that cost?

Leon, I don't think many people can anymore, when my mom was alive she canned all sorts of fruits and vegetables and we loved them. these jars all came from estate sales where the elderly people had passed away or were moved into a rest home. now i'm getting to be an "elderly person" myself.

I use the wide mouth ones for drinking glasses.
Buy a keg and have a wake for him.

You brought up Fruit Jars and it made me think of back when the wife and I canned in jars ,,we quit some years ago and did little canning at all .. except freezer bags of peaches.. but have found that way is not good , ,we put lemon juice to keep the peaches from browning and ,,well, we quit that also,, but then the wife was at a boys ranch store (like goodwill) and found this old canning cooker ,,and also she found 8 quart jars at another store ,, this year we will go back to canning like we did for our peaches we have on our tree in the back yard,, $10 pot $8 for 8 jars lids and rings
