rear bumper help!

I know the stock chrome bumper came on 1/2 tons from factory. Is the frame way diffrent on a 3/4 TON?? Could someone get me the measurment of their frame rails outside to outside on a 1/2 ton? I bought a factory rear bumper and not even close to lining up :-(

Re: rear bumper help!

There are two different types of inner bracket sets.. one fits short box 4X4, short box 2WD's with leaf springs and Blazer 4X4's, the other style fits long box trucks, short box truck 2WD's with coil springs and 2WD Blazers.

Sorry I do not have any pics to show you the differences

Re: rear bumper help!

Ran across the same issue. Found a step bumper that i liked. Using jack stands i located it on the truck were i wanted, made sure the tailgate opened, made some templates from cardboard, measures the offset bend i needed, took it to a local fab shop and had some brackets made. I believe cost me about $100. Looks good and that bumper ain't going anywhere.

Re: rear bumper help!

What brackets are you using? You cannot use step bumper brackets on a sport bumper
