got the 400 installed and running!! (lots of pics and couple videos!)

So Ive been working on the 5 lug swap, power brakes, power steering, th350 install, and I had a catastrophic failure of the 327, so in went the 400 (406, its bored .30 over) I had laying around. I still have a little exhaust leak, need to install the power steering pump, and fine tune her. This engine was rebuilt in 1993, sat for around 13 years, installed in another c10, ran for around a 1000 miles, pulled out, and its been sitting for 4 years, in my shop. We didn't clean the carb, change a plug, or wire, all we did was change the oil pan gasket, rear main seal, new oil and filter. The engine is bored .30 over, roller rockers, cam, intake and carb are all matched from Edelbrock. I am unsure of the specs of the cam and all, because my Dad rebuilt it so long ago, he cant remember! Its a STRONG motor, and I cant wait to drive her......

We cleaned up the engine bay, degreased, power washed, and then sprayed it with the Under coating stuff from Advance. I must say, for $5 a can, this stuff is great! It covers well, (3 cans to do the entire engine bay, firewall, and all the miscellaneous stuff) its durable, and I think it looks like a completely different truck!

Wow your spiffin my old truck up. Glad she's in good hands. I've always wanted a stout 400. Bored stroked and rolling. Maybe one day I'll find a deal on one..... Wait a minute... That motor looks familiar!!
Proud of the work you've done Derek. Keep it up hommie.
