I saw this little gem at the gas station today

I'm thinking that a guy with white seatbelts would be more careful?
I never saw the driver. It was already there, off to the side, and no one went to it before I left. This was a Sheetz station though, so maybe inside getting food
The secondary color looks more green in person, kind of gold-ish here

Nice 59 ... Great rake, and thankfully used 15 inch Cragars

Classic looking ride, love the Cragars, RWL tires and the stance. NICE! Be interesting to know the engine/trans combo.

I don't know about that particular holiday, but I have gotten gas there on others, where it was $1.99. Christmas Day, which I learned later they do every year, and Memorial day were the times I got in on it.
The catch is that it's not all gas, this price is for the E-85 (88 octane)
Cars older than 2000 are not supposed to be using it, the 15% alcohol is too much for them to compensate for in the fuel injection.

Yeah, CG I appreciated that too. I love big wheels, but they are not for everything. It's kind of funny how "period correct" works in my head. IMO, "modern" paint colors don't look right on older cars either.

A '59 El Camino can't help but be sexy. I also appreciate it was done right and not ruining for the pro-touring trend. Let it be what it is, a mighty fine riding, plenty good power, exceptionally stylish ride from factory

Re: I saw this little gem at the gas station today

It's hard to beat a 59 El Camino and that's a nice one. Very well done. I prefer the old school look myself. I'm not knocking the pro touring cars either. I like them too and I'm sure that the comfort and performance is far superior. But I still like the old look.
I don't like the old look when I look in the mirror but that's different story.

the 4th sale was any octane! according to my western pa brother. he said he took 4 5 gal cans and filled his truck but there was no chance to get back in line, had to get it all right then

I loved sheetz, when i lived there the local station had a comedy bit about charles bronson working there to research a movie. "excuse me, are those hotdogs TWO for 99?" BLAM! "not today punk!"

Columbus would have been loaded with rides this weekend, it's the PPG Goodguys show at the fairgrounds.

Well, I missed that. I thought it was the week after the 4th? Like the 10th-12th or so?

Can you imagine coming home from the dealer with one of those?
Like a Martian landing.
My dad bought a new 60 Nomad. I still have the promo model. It was that pastel blue.

Leave it to the careless passenger to mess your stuff up. I've had cigarette burns on the passenger seat of my two month old '90 Blazer, boot scuffs on my Cheyenne Super glovebox woodgrain, broken door handles, drinks dumped out the window leaving a streak of sticky down the side, and many many a seat belt left hanging out the door
