brake upgrade

Is there anything I can upgrade to on my 90 4wd blazer? Will anything late model retro to the earlier trucks? My brake pedal goes almost to the floor and doesn`t stop near as well as my 84 stepper but I know the blazer is heavier so I`m looking to upgrade. Thanks.

I would put new brake Fluid in, after years of use it will brake down and get some water in it. This may help.

Re: brake upgrade

flush the system. use dot 3 or dot 4 fluid (dot 5 is silicone instead of glycol based and is not good in a daily driver). valvoline makes synthetic dot 4 brake fluid.

Re: brake upgrade

Check out Praise Dyno brakes and spend some time on their site. They have tons of info on improving stock brakes.
