Re: dually crew on craigs
Nice! I've got a few plans, I'm leaning hard on a 12 valve Cummins swap, lowering it some or maybe air suspension, 22" wheels. Id like to do some interior stuff but I'm not sure what yet. I don't know if I want to swap in some newer style seats or get the current ones redone. I think it will be cool to have a small audio system and a fold down tv/DVD player from the headliner for my girls to watch when we cruise.
I'm planning on making this truck like I want and keeping it the rest of my days. |

Re: dually crew on craigs
congrats bowtie on the purchase...glad it went to a good home. ..and thanks for the follow up..a lot of craigslist ads get posted on here but you don't see many that get bought by a member..sounds like a good plan..
I thought long and hard on doing a duramax swap in mine but wound up going lq9 6.0 due to the extreme cost of diesel engines.. |

This is true. Diesel engine is expensive. Engines alone around here are $1500 and up. Then a trans, controller, and other parts. I'm only thinking Diesel for the power and torque and the fuel mileage. Knocking down 20-24 mpg in that big truck will be nice! What kind of fuel mileage are you getting with the 6.0? My dad said that's what I should do since I know more about LS engines and I can work on them and stuff. I have a 01 Camaro SS with a built 410 iron block stroker making 600hp to the crank and 520 to the tires. So I know my way around ls engines pretty good.

Re: dually crew on craigs
that camaro sounds like a fun ride...my truck gets around 16mpgs if I drive it normal (hard to do)..it dynoed at 345hp and 365 torque ...I've got anv4500 and 4.10 gears...if ida found a diessl for 1500 I would have given it more thought...the d-maxs I looked at were north of 6gs..closer to 10k for some...I regularly pull a loaded trailer that grosses at 9000lbs..handles it well..
