67,000 posts
I took a night off and special-K made his 67,000th post. I missed the whole thing. Was there a celebration or anything?

Good achievement. He still has a ways to go to catch up to Longhorn Man, and he's been off the board for years.

Re: 67,000 posts
The celebration will be next week when it hits 75,000. I thought about quitting when I saw it coming up on 50k. I'm sure not counting. It's one post at a time, come here pretty much daily, trucks have always been my thing from rod & custom to how I make my living to recreation. From Harley Servicar to Hayes logging rigs. From creating posts to responding and a couple bouts with moderating. I used to post hundreds of pictures from a show. I really got stoked on picture saving when I started using the computer. I always enjoyed photography and with digital coming along there's no limit.
It's funny. In real life, meaning in the presence of others face to face, I can go on and on with some topics or be the listener who can't get a word in. Maybe it's my mood, could be the topic, maybe the personality of whom I speak with... I dunno. I enjoy conversation and it doesn't take much to spark me. But I'm not about overpowering, and when I connect with someone like that I just step back. I only want to talk if you are interested and listening. If I think you are coming up with your next thing when you should be listening I lose interest real quick. It all boils down to this being my place to come be with friends with shared interests and to be helpful when I can with knowledge where I can. It's my happy place

Re: 67,000 posts
Same here, Dale. I go to the local tavern 0-3 times a year, been over 30 years. The people who work there recognize me but that's it. I see the same faces in there every time. No one knows me but they all know each other. I don't hang out, just get a beer and some food (good food). I'm not really interested in the conversations going on. This place is my hangout. And I can get things done while I'm at it.
I was told Shop Talk posts didn't add in. I went there twice when it was up. I'm fine with only saying what is allowed here. It's been 14 years of posting most days morning and evening. I don't do other forums, don't like Facebook or any other thing like it. It's either here, some buying, searches out of curiosity, and e-mail for me and computers. Until recently I had a 67-72s, Squarebodies, and GMT400s, so three message boards and parts boards to participate in. I've tried to keep my region forum alive, contribute pictures in three picture stickies n Heavy Haulers, am active in Our Stuff In Scale, buying/selling, it all adds up

Re: 67,000 posts
You will have to get on his schedule Dale so's you don't interfere with his daily post count.

Re: 67,000 posts
I'm generally offline in the middle of the day a couple hours, but don't interfere with my coffee/oatmeal/banana/67-72.com!!! No problem rearranging my work schedule. I think Harrison, AR is close enough to middle point for a rondezvous. I did find some new websites I'm going to be checking out just this morning that a new member was kind enough to share.

Re: 67,000 posts
Maybe I need my own forum. I could talk to myself and add my post count up x 2!
I started out lurking for a few years. Maybe came here every other month, if that. What got me participating was the need for good info. I'd see questions given inaccurate answers and guesses (like FB is now), wait to see a good answer, and finally I registered to answer a few posts in one day... very cautiously. I remember starting off with "What I was always told..." or "From what I've seen..." or "The way I always understood it..." etc. I remember the day Longhornman told me "You're one of us now". I felt like you do at Burger King when they give you a paper crown! Biggest day in my life!!!
