Brake booster question

I need to put a smaller booster in my 72 for clearance reasons. The booster that I am going to use, there is only a threaded rod. My question is, what are you guys using to connect it to the brackets on the firewall? Any help will be greatly appreciated, pictures will also help.

Re: Brake booster question

You can fab brackets and connectors or whatever it takes, but $200 and a couple of minutes on eBay will get one delivered to you that has correct brackets, connection to the pedal, master cylinder and proportioning valve.

Re: Brake booster question

Have you looked to see if the clevis on the OE stuff is threaded to use on there? It should be.

Re: Brake booster question

You might try http://vintagechevytrucks.com/ . They are like a wrecking yard for these trucks. I bought a complete OEM setup from them to convert mine to power brakes.

There web site is still screwy but the contact information is there.

That's it. Not sure if it's the same seller but that's the idea.

Thanks for your help but I do not need the whole unit I only need the clevis that screws on the end of the threaded rod coming out of the back of the booster. Can anyone help me find one or direct me on where to go looking.

Re: Brake booster question

I cut the end off the stock one and welded it to the rod on the new smaller booster I used. Worked like a charm.
