Clean the inside of the rear diff case

Ok so I pulled a dumb move. I popped the diff cover off and drained the oil. Didnt have a gasket so ordered one up and left the case open with the drain pan under it.
The gardners were at the office today and were blowing off the parking lot. You can see where this is going... Looks like they blew under my truck and straight into the diff...
Any ideas on flushing it out?
Water? Brake cleaner?

Re: Clean the inside of the rear diff case

i was not impressed with myself when I saw it but still had to chuckle.

My mother says if you dont use your brain you use your feet. 3 minutes to throw the cover back on and stick one bolt in to hold it would have saved me a $5.99 can of brake klean and the time...

I don't know, but, why couldn't you just burn the grass clippings away?

Good luck!

Re: Clean the inside of the rear diff case

Brake clean, and use silicone on the cover, there's a reason even the factory quit using those paper gaskets on diff covers.
