fan placement in shroud

Where should the fan be sitting in the fan shroud? Should it be completly inside or just in front of the opening?

Re: fan placement in shroud

The blades should be half in/ half out for maximum efficiency.

Re: fan placement in shroud

yep. If it is inside the shroud, then it just blows the air around inside the shroud... stirs the air up. If it is outside, then it'll pull air from around the shroud as well as through it. 1/2 in and 1/2 out is the best location.
